The field of cardiothoracic and vascular surgery deals with the surgical treatment of diseases of organs inside the thorax (i.e. Lungs, Hearts, Aorta) and vascular system (Arteries and veins) of the body. A thoracic surgeon will perform Coronary Artery Bypass surgery (CABG), repair / replacement of heart valves, surgery of congenial heart defects, arrhythmia surgery, all types of lung surgeries and vascular surgeries.

Cardiovascular disease refer to all diseases of heart and arteries and venous system. The symptoms and treatment of disease depends on set of organs / arteries involved.

In Coronary Artery disease, atherosclerotic plagues (inflamed fatty deposits in blood vessel wall) obstructs the blood flow in the coronary arteries. Narrowing of these arteries is called arterial stenosis. When a blockage is severe enough to reduce the blood flow significantly, especially during increased demand (i.e. during exertion or emotions), it results in pain in chest, also known as Angina Pectoris. The acute obstruction of coronary arteries because of rupture of plaques & development of thrombus leads to Myocardial Infraction or heart attack.

In valvular heart disease repair or replacement of valve is done depending on extent of damage of the valve involved.

In peripheral artery disease, obstruction occurs in the arteries of the legs. This results initially in pain during walking and later on, when disease progresses it causes tissue death or gangrene of the part involved. All types of vascular surgeries are done at our Institute by highly qualified and trained surgeons.

The treatment facilities provided in Cardiothoracic surgery include all type of open and closed heart surgeries. To facilitate such surgeries the Institute has Cardiothoracic operation theatre, Surgical intensive care Unit and requisite support trained staff. The treatment is provided by highly qualified & trained Surgeons and a team of Doctors and other supporting staff of hospital.

Dentistry is the practical application of knowledge of dental science (the science of placement, arrangement, function of teeth and their supporting bones and soft tissues) to human beings by a dentist doctor qualified to treat diseases, malformations of, and injuries to teeth. At Bharat Vikas Parishad Hospital & Research Centre. Dentistry we continually strive to bring the best in innovation and technology to treat the different dental diseases & to preserve the esthetics.

The patron saint of dentists is Saint Apollonia, martyred in Alexandria by having all her teeth violently extracted, not, one would have thought, such a very desirable exemplar. In 2001 archaeologists studying the remains of two men from Mehrgarh, Pakistan, made the discovery that the people of Indus Valley Civilization, even from the early Harappan periods (c. 3300 BC), had knowledge of medicine and dentistry.

The specialties of Dentistry wherein the treatment is provided at the Institute are Endodontics (root canal therapy), Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology (study, diagnosis, and often the treatment of oral and maxillofacial related diseases), Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology (study and radiologic interpretation of oral and maxillofacial diseases), Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (extractions and facial surgery), Orthodontics (straightening of teeth), Pedodontics (pediatric dentistry; i.e. dentistry for children), Periodontics (treatment of gum disease), Prosthodontics (replacement of missing facial anatomy by prostheses such as dentures, bridges and implants). Other dental disorders include - Over-opening the jaws beyond their range for the individual or unusually aggressive or repetitive sliding of the jaws sideways (laterally) or forward (protrusive) due to Speech habits resulting in jaw thrusting, Excessive gum chewing or nail biting, Excessive jaw movements associated with exercise, Size of foods eaten and the delivery of dental care to older adults involving the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of problems associated with normal aging and age-related diseases.

In case of accident and other trauma cases, the Institute also provides the treatment of Dental Surgery. Dental surgery involves procedures which involve artificially modifying the dentition. Some of the more common are – Endodontic (Surgery involving the pulp or root of the tooth), Root canal, Pulpotomy - The opening of the pulp chamber of the tooth to allow an infection to drain, Usually a precursor to a root canal, Pulpectomy - The removal of the pulp from the pulp chamber to temporarily relieve pain; Usually a precursor to a root canal, Apiectomy - A root-end resection as occasionally a root canal alone will not be enough to relieve pain and the end of the tooth, called the apex, will be removed by entering through the gingiva and surgically extracting the diseased material, and others.

The first step in achieving dental health is to make an appointment for an examination. Our Doctors and staff will take this opportunity to thoroughly review your medical and dental history, examine your teeth, gums & bite. After gathering this information they can discuss options for treatment of your dental needs. The treatment is provided by highly qualified and dedicated professionals.
